Understanding The Space

Purpose: To understand how the space will be experienced, used and lived in.

This stage includes:

  • Initial consultation and site visit

  • Understanding the context of the project, whether a private home or boutique hospitality setting

  • Discussion of how the space should function day to day, including guest experience where relevant

  • Exploration of atmosphere, character and practical requirements

  • Review of existing plans or architectural information 

  • Initial budget guidance and project parameters

02 Concept & Story

Purpose: To establish and cohesive design direction and narrative for the space.

Shaping The Space

This stage includes:

  • Development of an overarching design concept

  • Early layout studies help inform design concept and overall spatial direction

  • Consideration of mood, flow & materiality

  • Preliminary material and colour direction 

  • Visual references to communicate look and feel

  • Ensuring the concept feels welcoming, layered and appropriate to the setting

03 Design & Specification

Resolving The Space

Purpose: To translate the concept into a fully resolved design.

This stage includes:

  • Refined layouts and space planning

  • Detailed material, finish and colour specification

  • Bespoke joinery and furniture design (where required)

  • Lighting, furniture and FF&E selection

  • Preparation of drawings and schedules to support delivery

  • Coordination of design information for contractors and project teams

04 Build & Reveal

Purpose: To support the design through to completion and ensure it is realised as intended.

Protecting The Space

This stage includes:

  • On-going design support during the build or fit-out phase

  • Liaison with client's appointed contractor and wider team as required

  • Review of design details and responses to queries

  • Final styling guidance and finishing touches
