ABOUT
An insight into our design approach.

Hello
I’m Sophie O’Sullivan, Founder and Creative Director of Just Sophie, an interior architecture and design studio based in Witney.
When I’m not chasing after my little one or drinking far too much tea, I’m thinking about homes, how they feel, how they flow and how they can better support the people who live in them. I work across Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds, drawing inspiration from the region’s architecture, landscape and craftsmanship.
My Approach to Design
Beautiful homes begin with thoughtful planning. I focus on the details that are often felt rather than noticed: proportion, light, spatial flow and materiality.
By resolving the layout first, each design decision becomes more purposeful. The result is a home that feels intuitive, personal and effortless to live in.
Sustainability & Craft
Sustainability is woven into every layer of my process.
I champion local makers, traditional skills and ethically sourced materials, always balancing environmental responsibility with aesthetic integrity and performance.
Experience & Focus
I’ve had the privilege of delivering projects across the globe, each one shaped by its cultural context and emotional resonance. My early years in commercial and hospitality work taught me to think conceptually and strategically about the space, and those skills translate naturally into thoughtful homes.
Today, I focus primarily on private homes, alongside a select number of boutique hospitality projects approached with a residential sensibility.
CLARITY & BALANCE
Proportion, light and visual harmony are carefully considered so each space feels calm and resolved. Thoughtful layouts and restrained materials create interiors that are easy to live with and quietly confident.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Integrating science with art.
A home should feel as good as it looks. I consider light, proportion, movement, comfort and atmosphere together, creating interiors that feel calm, intuitive and deeply personal.
COMFORT & FLOW
Scale, circulation and ergonomics shape every decision, allowing rooms to flow naturally and support both everyday living and entertaining.
ATMOSPHERE & CHARACTER
Texture, materiality and subtle detailing bring warmth, depth and individuality, creating homes that feel grounded and lived-in rather than styled.
The best way to understand people, is to listen to them.

Great design isn’t just visual; it’s personal, behavioural and built around daily life.
