YOUR JOURNEY

Transforming your space, one step at a time.

Thoughts

01 Discovery & Concept

This first phase of the journey is about me getting to know you and your project. Together, we will develop an initial design proposal that you are happy with before taking it to the next stage. Depending on the size and complexity of the project, this stage can take anywhere between 2 - 8 weeks to complete.

Briefing & Site Survey

A successful interior project begins with a clear, personal brief that captures your preferences, aspirations, and expectations. This lays the foundation for a space that feels uniquely yours. It’s followed by a site survey, which provides a comprehensive understanding of the building, its interior, and its surrounding environment, ensuring design decisions are informed by both context and character.

Zoning & Layout Options

Spatial planning brings together the initial brief and site survey to explore the possibilities of your space. This stage is often like solving a puzzle, where each element such as function, flow and character finds its place. It marks the beginning of creative development and offers a first look at how your future environment might take shape.

Design Narrative & Mood board Inspiration

We use curated imagery to begin shaping the visual identity of your space, drawing out your preferred style and aesthetic direction. This part of the process is intentionally playful and collaborative, whether through shared digital boards or hands-on workshops. It’s a chance to explore ideas together and uncover design opportunities that feel both personal and inspiring.

Lighting, Furniture & Finishes Concept

This stage builds on the finalised floor plan and mood board direction to develop ideas for lighting, furniture and finishes throughout the space. It’s where your vision begins to take physical shape, as we explore materials, textures and key pieces that define the atmosphere and functionality of each area. These selections also lay the groundwork for 3D modelling and detailed design development.

02 Detail Design

This second phase of the journey is unlocked following approval of concept design. The focus is on the detail, ensuring your vision is bought to life with quality and function at the forefront. This stage typically lasts between 4 - 6 weeks.

3D Model & visualisations

This stage involves carefully planning the interior layout to create a digital replica of the space. Using shape and form, the model offers a realistic visualisation of how the design will feel and function. It’s a vital tool for refining ideas and ensuring the concept translates seamlessly into the built environment.

Joinery Design

Bespoke joinery allows us to tailor key elements of your space with creativity and precision. Whether it’s a custom kitchen, bookcase, wardrobe or wall panelling, these features are designed to reflect your needs and elevate the character of the interior. Each piece is thoughtfully integrated to enhance both function and individuality.

Lighting, Furniture & Finishes Selections

Selecting the right furniture and materials is essential to achieving the desired quality, aesthetic and budget balance. We focus on sourcing from trusted, often local suppliers to support sustainability and ensure reliability. This stage brings together the tactile and visual layers that define the atmosphere of your space.

Electrical Design

Mechanical and electrical planning is essential to creating a seamless user experience. Socket placement, lighting and switches are carefully considered to support how the space is used day to day. The goal is intuitive navigation and functionality, ensuring the design feels effortless and works precisely where and when it’s needed.

03 Technical Documentation

With the design direction confirmed, this phase prepares all technical documentation required for construction. Drawings, specifications, and schedules are finalised to ensure seamless coordination on site. It’s the bridge between vision and reality, laying the groundwork for a smooth implementation. Depending on project complexity, this stage typically takes up to 4 weeks.

Schedules

Once the detailed design is locked, we build out coordinated schedules and curated shopping lists to track every element. These documents align with the construction package and include specifications for all materials, furniture, and lighting, complete with links and pricing for full transparency.

Construction Drawings

Construction drawings translate design intent into buildable instructions. They guide the construction team with precise graphic documentation, covering room layouts, fixture locations, dimensions, materials, and installation details, ensuring clarity from concept to completion.

04 Implementation

This final phase brings the design to life on site. With drawings approved and schedules in place, construction begins and key elements are installed. It is a hands-on stage focused on coordination, quality and delivery, ensuring every detail aligns with the vision developed throughout the journey.

Site Visits

Site visits help ensure everything runs smoothly and that key details are captured before handover. My involvement varies by project, but I am available for site visits upon request to support quality control and resolve any last-mile queries.

Styling

Styling is the final touch that brings the space to life. Once construction is complete and furniture is installed, we layer in curated accessories, artwork and sensory cues to elevate the experience. This stage ensures the space feels intentional, cohesive and emotionally resonant, aligning every detail with the story we have built throughout the project.
